Trench coats have been around for ages. I recently learned that they were originally used by military sergeants. The classic trench has a few distinguishing details: 10 front buttons, double flap (double-breasted), a belt, and a storm flap.
The trench coat isn’t going anywhere just yet. With temperatures warming up (hopefully soon), a lightweight trench can be something that takes you through Spring and Fall. It is a versatile piece that can add a touch of sophistication with little effort.
There are also more modern takes on the trench that give it a fresh update. Some include the shrench (short trench), hooded trench, and trenches with varying sized collars, floral patterns, and bold colors.
Here are a few ideas that include the classic trench and some updated versions for Spring. Can you tell I’m lovin’ the color blush??
