There’s nothing (well, maybe there is) more that I want more for my kids then to love reading. Reading is something that I have enjoyed myself for a long time. I remember the days when I could sit and read as much of a book as I wanted. I often got lost in the story and couldn’t put it down. I know this isn’t true for all kids but I am a firm believer than anyone can love reading, it just takes the right book to get them hooked.
If anyone asks me what to get for my kids for birthdays or Christmas, I always try to include a book. I have no problem with having too many books. Both of our kids enjoy being read to. Emme is at the stage where she goes to get a book she likes and has David read it multiple times in a sitting. I have to laugh when it happens because. not only is it cute, I love that she insists that he read the book to her right away.
This Christmas, if you’re looking for something to get the little ones in your life, here are a few books that my kids absolutely adore. One that they haven’t received yet but that I am giving for Christmas is Oliver Jeffer’s We are Here. I read it and absolutely love the story. Oliver Jeffers is one of my favorite picture book authors and I can recommend just about every book of his that I have read. I posted about another one of his books here.
